Yarra Yarra's layout has undergone significant refinement over the years. In 2016, the Club embarked on a major restoration project to revive the key elements of Alex Russell’s classic design, focusing on strategic intent while adapting to modern gameplay. This project aimed to restore the architectural integrity of the original design, resulting in a course that challenges skilled players while remaining enjoyable for all. Renaissance Golf Design was appointed to uncover hidden features, leading to superb greens and bunkers that rival those of MacKenzie’s creations. The greens are large, fast, and undulating, featuring some of the steepest slopes in Melbourne, while the bunkers blend seamlessly with their surroundings and enhance the strategy of each hole. Yarra Yarra is currently ranked No. 19 in Australia and has hosted seven Women’s Australian Opens.
